From Nov. 27, 2006 till next entry

Valeria, our dear agent (responsible ;-) for the fact that we found our abode in Kalyves) came over once again to arrange that we are prepared for the winter, and feeling well. She organized the delivery of oil for the heating, and brought us a hunk of especially good Graviera cheese. We had some very fiendly moments of discussion about dear people we all know, about life...

Nikos took us "hunting" wild asparagus in some olive groves a bit further off. The feeling resembled that of going to the woods in Finland to find wild mushrooms. One needs expert guidance to get the hang of it, to recognize the targets, and to learn where to look for them. And it's great fun in the open air, not to mention that finding something as delicious as wild asparagus or mushrooms is extremely rewarding.

The hunt in the olive groves on a warm and sunny day simply demanded a swim in Kalyves. Even Hannu was brave enough to plunge into the waves from the deserted beach. The water temperature is quite like in our Finnish June - but here...

In the evening Kiti prepared a very tasty asparagus soup.
