Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011 - back home in Kalyves
If yesterday in the south, in Matala, was a warm and sunny swimming day for Kiti, today Kalyves gives us a strong wind from the north, and some rain. It's best to curl up by the fireplace at home, and wait for the evening when Nikos comes over to enjoy Kiti's warm milkweed soup. Horta á la Finlandia, as Nikos says!

Though the slowly burning olive wood is a great enjoyment, and this piece would be easy to kindle, it will be saved on the veranda as a modern piece of art!

Tomorrow will be a special day. Kalyves Titans have a football game here against some Hania Midgets ;) There will be a cheering group of Finns supporting our home team: KA-LY-VES! KA-LY-VES! KA-LY-VES!

If the weather gets worse, and the game is cancelled, we'll curse all ancient and modern Greek gods!

The day was windy and rainy, and the waves were growing...

...but it didn't prevent the Kalyves vs. Hania game! But where is the ball?
Ofcourse the ball was found, BUT too often in the goal of the (yellow) Kalyves team :(
Kalyves scored first, but Hania won 1-3!

In the evening:
First to see Nikos, then to Taverna Mythos to give the owners a taste of Kiti's nettle soup á la Finlandia :)
In the evening, and all thru the day, lots of KSILA in the TZAKI to enjoy the warmth of olive wood. Later a bubble-bath with Cretan herbs in our tiny bathtub where you have to keep your knees raised above water in order to fit in :)
